Mend, the behavioral health operations platform, today announced it has expanded its relationship with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and joined the National Council's Partnership Program as a Gold Partner. The National Council is the membership organization for more than 3,200 mental health and substance use treatment organizations serving more than 15 million children, adults and families.
Through its Partnership Program, the National Council brings organizations with relevant expertise, ideas and solutions into its community while supporting its work to strengthen mental health and substance use care nationwide. Mend's expanded investment as a Gold Partner builds on an existing relationship with the National Council and its members.
As a benefit of the partnership, National Council members receive 15% off Mend's annual software subscription fees and 20% off one-time implementation fees.
Mend works alongside the electronic health record systems behavioral health organizations already run. It is not an EHR. Mend handles the operational work between the schedule and the visit: patient outreach and confirmation, digital intake and screeners, real-time self-scheduling, automated waitlist fill, no-show prediction and follow-up. It writes the results back to the record, so more scheduled patients arrive and open capacity gets filled.
“The National Council represents the very organizations Mend was built to serve, and becoming a Gold Partner is about more than technology. It’s about standing alongside the people and organizations working every day to improve access to mental and behavioral healthcare,” said Warren Bates, CEO of Mend. “Our mission is to make access to care convenient for everyone who needs it. By deepening our partnership with the National Council, we have an incredible opportunity to advance that mission, support the more than 3,200 provider organizations they represent, and ultimately make a meaningful difference in the lives of the 15 million people they serve.”
“We’re excited to welcome Mend as a Gold Partner and grateful for their continued support. We look forward to building on our work together and the impact we can make across the field.”
Most recently, Mend launched Coordinate™, an AI coordinator that identifies appointments at risk, reduces administrative work and helps keep more people connected to care. Coordinate predicts which appointments are likely to fail, does the outreach and rescheduling, and hands off to staff when a person should step in, with the level of automation set by each organization.
Across more than 40 million patient appointments and 160 million patient interactions, Mend customers average a 7.4% no-show rate, down from the 20%+ typical of behavioral health organizations before Mend, and see provider utilization rise 33%.
