The Mend Story
In 2014, Mend started its mission to expand access to healthcare by using digital tools to connect patients with a team of healthcare providers.
But the demand for efficiency and connectivity in healthcare is constantly growing. Rising costs of care and inefficiencies threaten patient outcomes and the stability of healthcare organizations all over the United States. We have responded to this need by taking Mend tools and services nationwide.
Today, thousands of providers, practices, and institutions across more than 89 specialties use Mend to see more patients, speed up the time to visit, and increase practice revenue. Learn about the timeline of our telemedicine and telehealth solutions below.
2014Doctors on Demand
Mend begins its mission to make accessing care easier. Members of the Baldwin Park community in Orange County, Florida can use the mobile app to quickly schedule a physician to meet them in their home or office.
Mend opens the No-Wait-Clinic, reducing the time to care for patients who needed on-demand urgent care or family medicine services.
2016Pivot to Telehealth
Recognizing that the need for greater access to care went beyond any one area, the Mend team introduces the first version of its HIPAA-compliant telehealth portal. Early users helped us develop the platform into a full suite of patient engagement and communication tools.
2020Scaling Our Platform
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mend quickly scaled our platform to meet the healthcare industry’s need for fast, convenient remote care. By May, our average video visit minutes grew from 1 million per month to 1 million per day.
2021Growing New Solutions
In the first quarter of 2021, Mend supported more than 4 million appointments, with 300,000 video visits per month. We have continued to expand the tools available to our customers, including the industry’s first AI-powered solution for predicting patient no-shows. As healthcare providers seek to keep building stronger connections with patients, we will continue to support them with the best software and service.
